The success of this project was in creating an exciting, progressive work environment, and at the same time, maintaining a connection to the surroundings. Upon entering the suite, one is immediately drawn to the built in galley millwork below a custom designed piece of artwork representing the company’s logo, a centrally located oversized stained concrete bar height table, and the wide open space leading to the full height view of the Potomac River and The Awakening below. An open ceiling, floating colored resin panels, specialty wall finishes, distinctive lighting, stained concrete floors and the connection to the open office area are next noticed. The clean, contemporary finishes continue into the main office area, where Herman Miller Resolve workstations complement the floating acoustical panels above, the pendant lighting and accent paint colors. Closed offices and conference rooms are fully transparent because of the storefront glass partitions separating them from the open office area. Staff comfort and collaboration was at the forefront of the design where all staff has direct access to the dramatic views and natural light as well as being encouraged to utilize the central bar table for impromptu meetings and gatherings.
