Located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, the redevelopment of the 1813 35th Street NW consisted of a complete gut and rehabilitation of a 90- year-old former schoolhouse including the removal of the building’s roof, infrastructure, foundation, and floorplates to convert the historic structure into 15 luxury apartments. Communication and coordination with the project team, the client, and the Georgetown community were of an all-time importance for the duration of the rehabilitation due to the jobsite’s extremely tight parameters and neighboring active school campuses. Daily site access was coordinated with the Hardy Middle School administration to ensure the safety of each student, faculty, and staff member for the duration of the project. The sagging perimeter walls were pinned in place while crews removed the failing roof, dug out and poured a new foundation, and evenly distributed the floorplates to make 10-foot ceiling heights throughout the building.
From modern offices to ground-up developments, we bring expertise to every project.
